A specialist, vertical-led approach.

This is not general SME merchant services. The proposition is intentionally narrow: understand how art businesses trade, analyse what they currently pay, and structure payment routes around actual transactions rather than a product catalogue.

Problems we solve

Six problems the art market recognises immediately.

01

Payment costs are hard to interpret

A statement may combine percentage rates, transaction fees, gateway charges, terminal rental, PCI charges and separate commercial and international card costs. Businesses often see the total without seeing what drives it.

Payment intelligence. Understand the structure before changing provider.

02

Art transactions are not standard retail

Higher average values, international collectors, remote buyers, corporate purchasers, payment links and large bank payments are normal in this market, and unusual in generic merchant propositions.

03

The right method varies by transaction

A £500 gallery purchase and a £100,000 artwork sale do not necessarily require the same payment journey. One payment method does not fit every transaction.

BlueIxia response
Assess card present, card not present, payment link and account-to-account per transaction.

04

Provider choice is complex

Providers differ in pricing, products, acceptance channels, underwriting approach and integration. Like-for-like comparison is rarely straightforward.

Multi-provider connectivity and commercial support.

05

High-value remote payments require care

Remote transactions may introduce commercial-card costs, international-card costs, card-not-present treatment, provider limits and underwriting requirements at once.

Galleries need human support

Traditional payment infrastructure can feel product-led rather than relationship-led, particularly when a single transaction matters commercially.

Answers

Common questions

How can galleries accept high-value payments?
Through a route agreed with the provider in advance. Card, payment link and account-to-account may each be viable depending on limits, underwriting, the buyer's location and the confirmation the business needs.
Who provides the payment service?
The relevant bank, acquirer or regulated payment provider, under its own permissions, eligibility criteria and contractual terms.
When might account-to-account payment be appropriate?
It may warrant consideration on higher-value transactions where the buyer's bank supports the route and immediate percentage-based card costs are a material factor. It is never automatic.
